Keep software updated
Apply supported updates to your CMS, themes, plugins and server software. Remove extensions and accounts that are no longer needed.
Use strong access controls
Use unique passwords, multi-factor authentication where available, and separate accounts for each administrator. Never share passwords or one-time codes through support chats.
Maintain independent backups
Keep regular backups and confirm you can restore them. A backup is most useful when it is separate from the live site and periodically tested.
Use HTTPS and monitor activity
Keep your TLS certificate valid and review hosting logs or security alerts. HTTPS protects data in transit but does not replace updates, backups or access controls.
